The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is authorized to issue the following 11 types of medical cannabis cultivation licenses. Licenses will not become available until January 2, 2018. It is also important to note that with the recent Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MAUCRSA) that the old regulations which consist of the below listed license types have been withdrawn and are now being revamped in an emergency rule making process which will come out Fall of 2017 and will bypass public hearing initially so there are no further delays to the cannabis industry in California. There are also 13 adult use cannabis cultivation licenses.
